About Us
The Department of Engineering Technology is one of six departments within the College of Engineering. The undergraduate program in Engineering & Technology Management (ENGT) program provides transformative opportunities within the classroom and beyond. If you join our college, you'll be connected to Acadiana’s growing and innovative industries. You will be prepared to gain competitive jobs in engineering and technology management and closely related fields. The college’s close ties to leading local and national companies give you the opportunity to build your professional skills through internship programs while you complete your degree. You can participate in research, community-based learning projects and opportunities to develop your own ideas from proposal to prototype through our innovation programs. Our students are in high demand in the Acadiana job market and beyond, and they report some of the highest annual earnings of all UL Lafayette graduates one year after graduation.
The department has a long history of defining the field of engineering and technology management. Small classes, global perspectives, and instructors with first-hand experience in industry create a diverse community of learners. Students become part of a global network of alumni and foster deep connections to engineering and technology companies in one of the most livable cities in the US.
We value innovative research because past experience is not enough to master the future. Our research-active faculty involve students in the creation of new knowledge: Practice-focused research projects are part of classes and set our students apart as critical thinkers, innovators, and life-long learners.
Our Mission
