Areas of Specialization:
Dr. Joseph Kelly is a Senior Instructor in the Department of Engineering and Technology Management at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A three-time graduate of UL Lafayette, he has more than nine years of higher education teaching experience and is passionate about advancing student success. His areas of teaching and professional interest include fluid power systems, industrial control, and computer-aided design. He is a SOLIDWORKS Accredited Educator and holds certifications in CAD design, sustainability, additive manufacturing, and simulation. In addition, he is a certified Innovation Engineering Blue Belt, integrating innovation and problem-solving methodologies into engineering and technology education. Dr. Kelly is also a member of the Graduate Faculty with Associate Membership and actively serves as Committee Chairperson for master’s students defending their graduate projects, providing mentorship and guidance throughout their academic journey. Beyond teaching, he contributes to program quality assurance and continuous improvement as an accreditation team member for the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). He also serves as the Scholarship Coordinator and Curriculum Change Coordinator for the Department of Engineering and Technology Management. At the college level, he represents the College of Engineering on the Distance Learning Leadership Council and further supports students and program development as Co-Faculty Advisor for the UL Lafayette ATMAE Student Organization and as a member of the university’s Undergraduate Academic Advising Council.
